MAGNAPOP
From Atlanta, Georgia. Led by Linda Hopper (vocals) with Ruthie Morris (guitar), Scott Rowe (bass) and Chad Williams (drums). Hopper was a protege of R.E.M.'s Michael Stipe, played in a pre- R.E.M. band with him and used to play with his sister and Matthew Sweet in a band called Oh-OK. The band originally called themselves Swell. It took a decade, but a new Magnapop album appeared in 2005! 1992-present.
