From Manchester, England. Led by Howard DeVoto (vocals) with John McGeoch (guitar), Barry Adamson (bass), Dave Formula (keyboards) and Martin Jackson (drums). DeVoto formed Magazine after leaving The Buzzcocks to explore new wave. Leaving the punk confines of The Buzzcocks behind let him experiment with more dance oriented sounds. McGeoch went on to play with Visage, The Armoury Show and Siouxsie & The Banshees. Devoto moved on to a solo career and also formed Luxuria. McGeoch died in his sleep at age 48 in 2004. 1978-81.
