NICK LOWE
From Woodbridge, England. First as a member of Brinsley Schwarz in the 60's and 70's, then as a house producer for Stiff Records, Nick Lowe has been a pop machine for twenty five years. Most popular in his time with Rockpile, Lowe's solo work has continued to be a vital part of the power pop movement over the years. Lowe was married and divorced from country singer Carlene Carter the step-daughter of Johnny Cash. Lowe had the peculiar option of retiring in his 50's, his song "What's So Funny 'Bout Peace Love And Understanding?" (a hit for Elvis Costello) was included on the multi-platinum soundtrack of the Whitney Houston movie "The Bodyguard". Since he owns the publishing rights, he's whistled to the bank with a cool million in royalties! 1975-present.
