LENE LOVICH

From Detroit, Michigan, she moved to England at age 12.  Pronounced lay-na luv-itch, she played saxophone in a London funk unit called The Diversions before switching to new wave.  She developed a strange eastern European appearance to accompany her quirky vocals.  Lene's real name is Lili Marlene Premilovich.  Since her new wave days, she had a dance hit in the late 80's with Nina Hagen ("Don't Kill The Animals") and releases new work when she finds the time.  She also appeared in a stage version of the story of Mata Hari.  Lene's latest album was released in September of 2005!  1976-present.
