LISA LOEB
From Dallas, Texas. Lisa Loeb (vocals/guitar) first gained national attention by becoming the first singer without a recording contract to have a number one hit. Placing a track ("Stay") on the soundtrack of friend/actor Ethan Hawke's film "Reality Bites". While attending college, she formed a band which also included guitarist Duncan Sheik who has gone on to a solo career as well. Loeb has been dabbling in acting also, turning up in commercials and television sitcoms. A jumble in labels resulted in "Cake & Pie" being reissued under the name "Hello Lisa" with different mixes and a few changes in songs. Loeb hosted a cooking show ("Dweezil & Lisa") with Dweezil Zappa on the cable television Food Network. Connected with Zappa romantically as well, when the relationship fizzled, so did the show. Undaunted, Loeb returned to television in 2006 on the E! Network with the show "#1 Single" chronicling her new adventures in dating and looking for a love match! Loeb was apparently looking for a nice Jewish boy and found her man and married in January of 2009. Loeb has been dabbling in children's music lately which possibly shows the next direction of her life as well. 1994-present.94
