LIMPBIZKIT
From Jacksonville, Florida. Led by Fred Durst (vocals) with Wes Borland (guitar), Sam Rivers (bass), John Otto (drums) and DJ Lethal (turntables). Part of the noisy trend of bands that mix metal and rap in the late 90's. Lethal was formerly with House Of Pain. Some controversy erupted when this band's record label paid an Oregon radio station to play the song "Kounterfeit" on a regular basis. It was decided that while this was not "payola", other radio stations did not attempt to repeat the stunt. In a very surprising move, Durst accepted the position of Sr. Vice-President for the Interscope label in June of 1999. What effect this has on the band's future has become apparent as the cult of Bizkit grew into self parody. In 2001, Borland left the band. After many delays a new album was released to little fanfare. Durst finds himself more in the news now for rumours that he starts regarding his sexual prowess with other entertainers such as Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Halle Berry and Paris Hilton. Most unnecessary remake ever award goes to Fred for reviving The Who's "Behind Blue Eyes". Also pointless was changing the band's name in 2003 from Limp Bizkit to Limpbizkit. 1995-present.
