THE LEMONHEADS
From Boston, Massachusetts. Led by Evan Dando (vocals/guitar) with an ever changing line-up of side players. The band started as a hardcore unit that slowly evolved into melodic modern rock. Dando's notorious drug problems made the band an unstable vehicle. Dando tried a little acting in the film "Heavy", to good notices. The band is legally called "The" Lemonheads to avoid a lawsuit from the candy manufacturer who makes Lemonheads candy. Dando recorded a song "Purple Parallelogram" for "Car Button Cloth" with Oasis' Noel Gallagher which made it as far as radio stations but not to the album, after Gallagher withdrew his permission! After an extended rest and a few changes in lifestyle, Dando dropped the band name entirely but soon found himself touring with a new Lemonheads line-up resulting in a new band album, the first in 9 years. The current version of The Lemonheads includes former Descendents members Karl Alvarez (bass) and Bill Stevenson (drums). 1986-present.
