From Los Angeles. Led by Suzi Gardner (guitar) with Donita Sparks (vocals), Gail Greenwood (bass) and Dee Plakas (drums). This all female grunge band scored a hit with "Pretend We're Dead". The name of the band is old slang for "square" or "un-hip". Gardner was the real life girl who witnessed a murder that was portrayed in the film "River's Edge". Greenwood, a former member of Belly, joined the band when original bassist Jennifer Finch quit the band. Bass players come and go it seems though, their current one is Janis Tanaka. Finch formed a band called The Shocker and then quit the business to become a web developer. 1987-present.
