KULA SHAKER
From London. Led by Crispian Mills (vocals/guitar) with Alonzo Bevan (bass), Jay Darlington (keyboards) and Paul Winter-Hart (drums). Mills is the son of actress Hayley Mills ("The Parent Trap"). Their first hit "Tattva" was sung partly in the ancient Indian language of Sanskrit. The band's sound derives heavily from 60's British blues artists and the retro sound of "Swinging London"! The band didn't stick together long however with Mills departing the group in 2000. Bevan became one of Johnny Marr's "Healers", while Mills started his own self named group and then formed The Jeevas. After an 8 year hiatus, Kula Shaker released a new EP in 2006. 1996-98/2006-present.
