KINGS OF LEON
From Franklin, Tennessee. Led by Caleb Followill (vocals/guitar) with brothers Jared Followill (bass) and Nathan Followill (drums) and cousin Matthew Followill (guitar). This Southern rock band was difficult to classify in the world of rock before finally hitting big with their fourth album in the U.S. Welcomed abroad for their up tempo rock mixed with elements of blues, country and alternative, they found their first success in Europe. A family tradition, none of the Followills use their actual first names, instead calling themselves by their middle names instead. The band named themselves after the brothers' father and grandfather who both went by the name "Leon". 2003-present.
