KAISER CHIEFS
From Leeds, England. Led by Ricky Wilson (vocals) with Andy White (guitar), Simon Rix (bass), Nick Baines (keyboards) and Nick Hodgson (drums). Formed in 1997, the group played out for 5 years as Parva and released a few singles under that name. Needing a change in both musical direction and excitement, the band renamed themselves as the Kaiser Chiefs, after a favorite South African football team. They then proceeded to tear up the charts, the critics and the fans with their new style. 2004-present.
