TONIO K.
From Palm Desert, California. Steve Krikorian started his professional recording career as a member of The Crickets (post-Buddy Holly version circa 1971-72). He cut two albums with them and went solo under the name Tonio K., derived from the character Tonio Kroger who appears in a short story by author Thomas Mann. Sometimes called a darker version of Warren Zevon, he has successfully stayed out of the limelight with a number of fun and ironic songs. 1973-present.
