JOE JACKSON

From Portsmouth, England. One of the more talented artists of the new wave, he quickly expanded his music into many directions including jump, jazz, movie scoring and more. When Jackson first received his recording contract, he was the musical director at a British Playboy Club! He had also released several singles with the group Arms And Legs before making it big. Recent years have shown Joe exploring classical arrangements with guest vocalists. Jackson may never reach his height of creativity but the critical nadir of his career was early on with his Joe Jackson Group. He was considered to be part of punk's group of angry young men along with Elvis Costello and Graham Parker. 1978-present.
