INDIO
From Hamilton and then Toronto, Canada. Led by Gordon Peterson (vocals/guitar/piano), the band name Indio is an alias for himself. His album, considered one of the most brilliant of that year, was filled out with the likes of session musicians Larry Klein (bass), David Rhodes (guitar) and Vinny Colaiuta (drums). Back-up vocals were provided by Klein's wife (Joni Mitchell) and Brenda Russell. Political folk and rock. For whatever reason, Peterson's career started and ended here with this, his only album. 1989.
