IN TUA NUA
From Dublin, Ireland. Led by Leslie Dowdall (vocals) with Jack Dublin (bass), Ivan O'Shea (guitar), Paul Byrne (drums), Martin Clancey (guitar), Lovely Previn (fiddle) and Brian O'Brian (pipes). Several releases in Ireland and the U.K., only one, produced by Don Dixon, in the U.S. Sinead O'Connor was an early vocalist for the band before their recording days. The band's name means "in the new world" in Gaelic. Original violinist Steve Wickham left the band to join The Waterboys. Leslie Dowdall suffered from a long illness and finally released solo cd's in 1997 and 1998, also placing a single in the Irish top 10 in 1998! 1984-89.
