From Sydney, Australia. An actress on the popular Australian soap opera "Neighbours", Imbruglia insists she's always been a musician first. She first came into the public eye in the US as the romantic interest of actor David Schwimmer of "Friends", something she refuses to talk about now. Her first album was written with former Cure member Phil Thornalley. Her last name is pronounced em-brew-lia. Her first hit "Torn" is actually a reworking of the same song by the band Ednaswap. She has begun appearing in Hollywood films ("Johnny English") and was married to Silverchair leader Daniel Johns from 2003 until 2008. 1997-present.
