THE GUN CLUB
From Los Angeles. Led by Jeffrey Lee Pierce (vocals/guitar) and Kid Congo Powers (guitar). Pierce was always a punk fan and was the president of the Blondie fan club. Many incarnations and albums san hits, never kept him from persisting. Originally a punk band, the name came from Circle Jerks leader Keith Morris who was his roommate at the time. The original Gun Club also featured guitarist "Kid Congo" Powers who also became a member of The Cramps. Pierce went on to perform solo blues for a while and had reformed The Gun Club when he suddenly passed away from a brain hemorrhage on March 31, 1996. One time member Patricia Morrison (aka Pat Bag from The Bags) went on to become a member of Sisters Of Mercy and The Damned. 1981-93.
