ROBERT GORDON
From Bethesda, Maryland. The former lead singer of the punk group Tuff Darts. Gordon gave up the punk angle and took on rockabilly instead to great success. The Tuff Darts went on to make an album without Gordon. Gordon in turn took full advantage of guitar legends on all his recordings to get that authentic sound going. Some of his guitarists included Link Wray, Chris Spedding and Danny Gatton. Pursuing rockabilly as an art form, Gordon's style and voice technique make him the only modern example of a true rock and roll singer in the great tradition of rock's pioneers. In 1996, Gordon was brutally attacked in a mugging in New York City and his face bares a scar from the incident. 2005 saw the release of a brand new studio album from Gordon, his first in many years. 1977-present.
