NINA GORDON
From Chicago, Illinois. Nina was the chief writer in a fruitful partnership with Louise Post, known as Veruca Salt. While successful in that band and as a solo act, Gordon has fallen under considerable criticism for first making Veruca Salt sound almost identical to The Breeders and then as a solo act in sounding a bit too conveniently like Sarah McLachlan. In her defense, it could be said that her natural mimicry talents tend to reflect a sharp business eye mixed with actual talent. How else to explain all those hits? Gordon has been romantically linked with former Veruca Salt drummer and current American Hi-Fi leader, Stacy Jones. 2000-present.
