GENERATION X
From London. Led by Billy Idol (vocals) with Bob "Derwood" Andrews (guitar), Tony James (bass) and Mark Laff (drums). This band's original members were all part of Chelsea when they decided to dump lead singer Gene October and forge on with a new name! Musically inconsistent and very commercially aimed punk, they gained little respect in their time because they wanted the fame that punks supposedly didn't want! Idol of course went on to great success, James formed Sigue Sigue Sputnik, Andrews formed Westworld and now leads the band Moondogg. 1977-81.
