GENE
From London. Led by Martin Rossiter (vocals) with Steve Mason (guitar), Kevin Miles (bass) and Matt James (drums). Often compared favorably to The Smiths, they were never embraced within the U.S. (as far as the charts were concerned), but had a sold out tour of the States before splitting. In England, the band butted heads with Polydor until the label abandoned them. The band split for good in 2004 after the aptly titled single release "Let Me Move On". 1995-2004.
