FOUNTAINS OF WAYNE
From New York City. A duo of Chris Collingwood (vocals/guitar/keyboards) and Adam Schlesinger (drums/guitar/keyboards). Schlesinger is also a member of the group Ivy and gained a major hit by writing the theme song to the film "That Thing You Do" which was nominated for an Academy Award! Witty power pop, the group expanded to include guitarist Jody Porter and drummer Brian Young. Their third album contained the unexpected smash hit "Stacy's Mom". 1996-present.
