FLASH AND THE PAN

From Australia. From the 60's power pop group The Easybeats, came the team of Vanda and Young. Harry Vanda (Johannes Jacob Hendrickus Vandenberg)(guitar) and George Young (vocals/keyboards) pursued the new wave as well and had several prominent hits in the 80's. During their time-off in the 70's, they became well known producers of George's little brothers Angus and Malcom's band, AC/DC! Before settling on the group's name, they released material under at least five other names. They also wrote the hit "Love Is In The Air" as performed by John Paul Young. Vanda and Young received their greatest tribute in 2001 when their classic hit (with The Easybeats) "Friday On My Mind" was named the number one Australian song of the past 75 years. 1977-96.
