FISCHERSPOONER
From New York City. Led By Warren Fischer (violin/programming) and Casey Spooner (vocals/keyboards). Heavily inspired by early 1980's new wave, they have emerged as a popular club attraction. The attraction does not however lie only in the retro inspired music but in the outrageous floor show that accompanies all performances. Consisting of a troupe of semi-clad characters of varying sexuality that dance and interpret (?) the music, they engage in pseudo-erotic activities meant to confound and titillate the audience. It's possible that this band's shelf life is very limited to a blip in the novelty act hall of fame, but for now it's worth investigating. 2002-present.
