FETCHIN' BONES

From Charlotte, North Carolina. Led by Hope Nichols (vocals) with Danna Pentes (bass), Aaron Pitkin (guitar), Clay Richardson (drums) and Errol Stewart (guitar). Punky folk best describes the approach of their jangly sound but they were musically all over the place, even covering Rick James' "Superfreak". The band ended in 1989 but Nichols and Pitkin created a new band called Sugarsmack which also lasted for four albums. Once joking in an interview that they have a new band every decade, they followed through on their word and created their current band Snagglepuss. Nichols and Pitkin lived together 14 years before marrying in 1995. In recent years the two opened a clothing store called "Boris & Natasha".

as Fetchin' Bones: 1985-89. as Sugarsmack: 1990-2000. as Snagglepuss: 2002-present.
