FEAR
From Los Angeles. One of the original L.A. hardcore punk bands, now based in Austin, Texas. Led by Lee Ving (Lee Capalero) (vocals/guitar) with Philo Cramer (guitar), Derf Scratch (bass) and Spit Stix Andrew Jaimez (drums). Hard and with a sense of humor, influential on the whole L.A. punk scene, they formed in the 70's but didn't get a full album out until 1982. One of their finest sonic blasts was the speed punk "Fuck Christmas" which didn't help the band get played on the radio! Ving dissolved the band in 1985 and pursued an acting career for a while. His most memorable role was "Mr. Boddy" in the movie version of the board game "Clue". Ving revived the band with a new line up in 1995 including Andrew Jaimez (drums), Richard Presley (guitar) and Mondo Lopez (bass). Presley and Lopez also now play in The Breeders. 1978-85/1996-2000.
