4 NON-BLONDES

From San Francisco, California. Led by Linda Perry (vocals/guitar) with Roger Rocha (guitar), Christa Hillhouse (bass) and Dawn Richardson (drums). Originally an all female band, internal differences led to a quick split making them a one hit wonder. Linda Perry's first solo album was released in 1996, shortly after coming out in public that she is a lesbian. Rather than be pigeonholed by her sexual orientation, fans of her sound began to search her out as a producer. She made a triumphant career jump to the other side of the microphone by helping pop singer Pink change her image from an R&B/rap vocalist to a rock and pop singer. She has since won a Grammy award for co-writing the song "Beautiful" as performed by Christina Aguilera. 1993.
