DEEP BLUE SOMETHING

From Denton, Texas.  Led by Todd Pipes (vocals/bass) with brother Toby Pipes (guitar), John Kirtland (drums) and Clay Bergus (guitar).  The group originally called themselves Leper Messiah.  Their music has been called low-fi with gothic influences yet it was their very mainstream pop hit "Breakfast At Tiffany's" that brought them fame and fortune.  Seeing as how the group scored a monster hit in the U.S., it was odd indeed when their 1998 release "Byzantium" was only released overseas.  Their record label in the U.S. didn't even acknowledge the albums existence!  It was eventually released in the U.S. on an independent label in 2001.  1993-98.
