THE dB's

From New York City via Chapel Hill, North Carolina.  Led by Chris Stamey (vocals/guitar) and Peter Holsapple (vocals/guitar) with Gene Holder (bass) and Will Rigby (drums).  The dB's created great pop records through the 80's but were hardly heard due to poor distribution.  Stamey left the group in 1983 for a solo career.  Holsapple took the reigns and they soldiered on for two more albums.  After the band folded, Holsapple became a touring member of R.E.M. before forming The Continental Drifters with his wife Susan Cowsill (The Cowsills) and Vicki Peterson (The Bangles).  Rigby released a few singles but much attention has gone to his ex-wife Amy in recent years for the music career she has formed.  Holsapple released a solo cd in 1997.  And after a long recess, Holsapple & Stamey reunited for another album in 2009.  1978-88.
