DR. & THE MEDICS

From England.  Led by Clive Jackson (vocals) with Steve McGuire (guitar), Richard Searle (bass), Vom (drums), Wendi West (Wendi Anadin) (vocals) and Colette Appleby (Colette Anadin)(vocals).  A pseudo-one hit wonder best known for their cover versions of Norman Greenbaum's "Spirit In The Sky" and ABBA's "Waterloo".  Jackson was a club dj who would organize mystery trips for partygoers where up to 3,000 people would bus themselves to an unknown location for an all night party.  In effect, The Doctor developed the rave before there was such a thing!  After ending the band, Wendi married the doctor and they had three children.  After ten years, the Doctor began the band again to tour on the nostalgia circuit and makes a brisk living as a covers band.  1982-88/1992/1996.
