DOUG & THE SLUGS

From Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Led by Doug Bennett (vocals) with Marc Gladstone (keyboards), Elio Martelli (guitar), Jay Wittur (bass), and Doug Grant (drums). Like many Canadian groups that are huge north of the border, this band found little success in the U.S. Their music has ska, doo-wop and soul influences and they were one of the first bands to capitalize on music videos. Bennett tried his hand at acting, and their hit "Too Bad" became the theme to TV's "The Norm Show". Of the original line-up, Bennett was the only member left by 2004 and the band's legacy came to an end when Bennett died on October 9th, 2004 after a long illness. 1980-1993.
