THE DAMBUILDERS

From Honolulu, Hawaii, then based in Boston, Massachusetts.  Led by Dave Derby (vocals/bass) and Eric Nasunaga (guitar) with Joan Wasser (violin) and Kevin March (drums).  Derby and Nasunaga made three albums together between 1986-88 as The Exactones before changing their name.  The goal of this band was to record and release fifty different songs and name them after all fifty United States.  They ended up making about twenty of them.  After breaking up, Derby moved to New York to continue his education and formed the band Brilliantine.  The Dambuilders were best known for their hit "Shrine" which had a similar guitar sound to New Order.  1989-1997.
