COHEED & CAMBRIA
From upstate New York. Led by Claudio Sanchez (vocals/guitar) with Travis Stever (guitar), Mic Todd (bass) and Josh Eppard (drums). The band formed in 1995 under the name Shabutie and played 6 years under this name before changing it. After the name change, came a change is style as well. Out with the grunge and in with an old sound, unheard for many years on the radio, progressive rock. Not quite the old progressive rock of days gone by, but something new that allowed them to show off their expertise of their instruments. Something to allow a little virtuosity back into the band. This "new progressive" sound has already built the band a strong following in a short amount of time and could actually be the next big thing in alternative radio. 2002-present.
