CHERIE CURRIE
CHERIE & MARIE CURRIE

From Encino, California.  The former lead vocalist of The Runaways.  Cherie left the group after disputes with Joan Jett over band leadership.  After a solo debut, Cherie recorded an album with her twin sister Marie in 1980.  The two primarily sang covers of rock hits by Free, Rainbow and others.  They never broke through and failing to make an impact, Cherie tried acting next, turning up in several movies including the Jodie Foster film "Foxes".  Sister Marie Currie married and divorced musician Steve Lukather of the rock group Toto, they had two children together.  Cherie was married to "Airplane" actor Robert Hays from 1990-1997 and they have one son together.  In 1998, after 18 years away from music, she began to play out again with her band Blue Canyon.  In 2010, a movie called "The Runaways" appeared, based on her book "Neon Angel".  Since her rock star days, Cherie became a drug counselor and also developed a career as a chainsaw artist.  1978-80.
