From Dallas, Georgia. Drag queen Wayne County is an indefinable showman. A change of name to Jayne County and an actual sex change came later. Coming up through the New York City punk scene, this unique personality told the story of the whole punk movement in the classic song "Max's Kansas City". County was also a dj at Max's in the old days and when the club reopened in the 90's, he resumed his once a week dj job as well. A famous incident in punk history involves Wayne being intimidated by The Dictators' Handsome Dick Manitoba during a show. Wayne thought Dick was going to attack him so he beat him to the punch by slamming Dick with his microphone stand and broke Dick's collarbone in the process! County hasn't always been treated well in punk history, sometimes described as a borderline artist at best, however validation and vindication certainly came when Kid Rock teamed with Eminem to cover his classic "Fuck Off". 1976-present.
