From San Francisco, California. Led by Adam Duritz (vocals) with David Bryson (guitar), Ben Mize (drums), Charlie Gillingham (keyboards), Dan Vickrey (guitar) and Matt Malley (bass). The band's name is derived from an old English rhyme. Lead singer Duritz was creating an image of being quite the ladies' man for a time, having dated two members of the cast of TV's "Friends" (Courtney Cox and Jennifer Anniston). Their music is almost folk based. Their breakthrough single "Mr. Jones" sounds like old Van Morrison. 1993-present.
