From Grangemouth, Scotland. Led by Robin Guthrie (guitar/programming) and Elizabeth Fraser (vocals) with Simon Raymonde (bass). Ethereal sounding music with what seems to be unidentifiable lyrics. Fraser swears she sings in English but who knows? Moody, sometimes like Kate Bush (if she were an alien). The band take their name from a song by Simple Minds. Despite having split up for solo careers, the band members have been keeping a somewhat low profile. In 2001, Guthrie released a new album with Mono vocalist Siobhan de Mare under the name Violet Indiana. In 2005, after 9 years apart, the band announced a reunion for a performance at the Coachella Valley Music Festival but then sadly cancelled their appearance. 1982-97.
