From Milwaukee, Wisconsin. James Siegfried was a member of the New York City "no wave" scene. This avante-funk master was a member of Lydia Lunch's group, Teenage Jesus & The Jerks before forming his own band. An amazing saxophone player, he has been known to physically attack his audiences if they act indifferent to his music! He has also recorded under the name James White and The Blacks. The Contortions: James Chance (vocals/saxophone), Adele Bertei (keyboards), Jody Harris (guitar), Pat Place (guitar), George Scott (bass) and Don Christensen (drums). While an active musician, Chance has not released a new album of studio material since 1986! 1978-present.
