From London. Originally led by Jimmy Somerville (vocals) with Steve Bronski (keyboards) and Larry Steinbachek (drums). Dance songs about life, love and hardships in the British gay community. Somerville quickly departed to form The Communards and an eventual solo career. His replacement on vocals was John "Jon" Foster which lasted all of one album. The third lead singer to come on board is Jonathan Hellyer. 1984-present.
