STIV BATORS

From Youngstown, Ohio. The former leader of The Dead Boys and The Lords Of The New Church. Stiv's famous motto "Fuck Art, Let's Rock!" lent itself to his life as well. During a Lords show in 1983, Stiv accidentally hung himself to death in a stage stunt that went wrong. He was revived but clinically dead for several minutes! Once a dead boy always I dead boy! As a solo act, Stiv's recorded output is slight, although he did release a full album leading classic UK punkers Sham 69 under the name The Wanderers. Another great moment in Stiv history came when Stiv found out that the members of the Lords had placed a classified ad for a new lead singer. During a show soon after, while on stage performing, Stiv presented the members of the band with t-shirts bearing the classified ad! Stiv asked on microphone who their new lead singer was. Brian James replied "You are Stiv,... right?" Bators fired the whole band right there on stage, walked off and out the front door! Stiv also attempted a tentative acting career with parts in the movies "Hairspray" and "Tapeheads". Stiv died in Paris, June 3, 1990 after being hit by a passing taxicab while crossing the street. He got up and walked away but died in his bedroom of internal injuries. 1979-90.
