KATE BUSH
From Bexleyheath, England. Discovered by Pink Floyd's David Gilmour, his connections led 16 year old Kate to a recording contract with EMI. Her first single was the wildly popular "Wuthering Heights" which to be truthful sounded like a little girl on helium. A rerecorded version later on in her career did the song a better justice. Bush was one of the first alternative artists to explore world beat and seriously include the style into her compositions. An accomplished dancer, her early tours and television appearances featured Kate interpreting her songs physically as well as vocally. In the past decade, Kate has kept a low profile of sorts. The similar sounding Tori Amos has filled the void but Kate's following is a strong one and no doubt waiting for her return. Kate returned in 2005 with a new album called "Aerial", her first new album in 12 years! 1978-present.
