BURNING SPEAR
From St. Ann's Bay, Jamaica. This reggae artist's real name is Winston Rodney. Politics dominate his music along with social reform. The name Burning Spear derives from the nickname of Jomo Kenyatta, Kenya's first president. Spear's biggest hit to date is "Marcus Garvey". In 2000, he won the Grammy award for best reggae album for his "Calling Rastafari". 1969-present.
