EDIE BRICKELL & NEW BOHEMIANS
From Dallas, Texas. Edie Brickell and New Bohemians are: Edie Brickell (vocals/guitar), Kenny Withrow (guitar), Brandon Aly (drums), Carter Albrecht (kryboards) Brad Houser (bass/saxophone) and John Bush (percussion). Edie sings in a trippy, doped up style that is endearing and annoying at the same time. They fit in perfectly with the Blues Traveler/Black Crowes/Spin Doctors sound of the early 90's. When Edie met and married Paul Simon, the band fell apart. Several years and two children later, Edie reassembled the band as The Slip and were prepared to release new material that unfortunately was never released. In a very low key move, the sessions were reorganized and quietly released as The Live Montague Sessions in 2001 accompanied by a few live performances in their home state of Texas. Original drummer Matt Chamberlain went on to become one of Pearl Jam's many drummers. 1988-present.
