BLUR

From London. Led by Damon Albarn (vocals/guitar) with Alex James (bass), Graham Coxon (guitar) and Dave Rowntree (drums). Lumped in with the Manchester scene originally, they are one of England's most popular groups. Known also for their huge rivalry with Oasis, their style continues to evolve with each new album. Albarn has cited Pavement as an influence on the band's current style. Albarn was previously romantically connected with Justine Frischmann of Elastica, their break up fueled the writing of the album "13". Albarn was then connected with the Gorillaz project and realized a bigger success than Blur had ever scene in America. Coxon left the group for a few years before being welcomed back into the fold in 2005. 1990-present.
