BIG AUDIO DYNAMITE
From London. Formed in 1984 by former Clash frontman Mick Jones. This group has explored the dance directions that Jones never could find within the confines of The Clash. Introducing sampling to their music would create a wave of copycat technology in pop and rap music. Who would've thought a punker could have so much influence on the future of music? The group dissolved in 1990 after Jones' near death bout of pneumonia. In 1991 he reformed the group with new members and it has been evolving ever since. The final line-up: Mick Jones (vocals/guitar), Ranking Roger (vocals), Darryl Fulstow (bass) and Bob Wond (drums). 1985-present. Jones called an end to B.A.D. after the death of Joe Strummer and has since rejoined his old London SS buddy Tony James in releasing select material online as Carbon/Silicon.
