AT THE DRIVE-IN
From El Paso, Texas. Led by Cedric Bixler (vocals) with Omar Rodriguez (guitar), Jim Ward (guitar), Paul Hinojos (bass) and Tony Hajjar (drums). This longtime independent band finally found mainstream success after seven years on the road, only to announce an indefinite hold on the band during the middle of their first major label tour. Popularity however had adverse results when the band split shortly after their first hit. Bixler and Rodriguez formed The Mars Volta while the other members became Sparta. Ward was found dead May 25, 2003, of a possible drug overdose. 1994-2001.
