THE ASSEMBLY
From England. Led by Vince Clarke (keyboards) and Feargal Sharkey (vocals). Moving away from the strictly electronic sound of Yaz after that band disintegrated, Clarke teamed with former Undertones leader Sharkey for this one time project. The single climbed into the UK top ten but the pairing was not fated to continue and a single is as far as the project got. Clarke swiftly recreated the Yaz sound with his new group Erasure while Sharkey attempted a solo career. 1983.
