APOCALYPTICA
From Helsinki, Finland. A quartet comprising three cellists and a drummer; Eicca Toppinen, Paavo Lotjonen, Perttu Kivilaakso and Mikko Siren. Originally formed as a heavy metal tribute to Metallica, the group experimented past that band's output and into new territories, often employing guest vocalists along the way. Their first international hit featured Nina Hagen on vocals and their latest features Gavin Rossdale of Bush. 1996-present.
