From Cornwall, England. The enigmatic Richard D. James is the Aphex Twin. One of the true founders of ambient techno, James began his recording career while still a teen. His ominous and evil smile have graced his last few releases in a very comical way, attaching his head to pictures of people of all walks, one of the more recent being a buxom woman's body. He continues to experiment in ways that could prove to be a death knell to him commercially but always resurfaces with something new and fresh to keep the labels interested. 1991-present.
