AFGHAN WHIGS

From Cincinnati, Ohio. Led by Greg Dulli (vocals/guitar) with Rick McCollum (guitar), John Curley (bass) and Paul Buchignani (drums). While often touted as part of the grunge movement, they also had a healthy respect for soul music which pops up many times throughout their recording career. The group named themselves after a 1960's motorcycle gang based in Florida who were also white Muslims! After a dozen years the band drifted apart and officially split in February 2001. Dulli continues on with his side project The Twilight Singers. 1988-1998.
